Counselling & Supervision

Counselling offers people an opportunity to explore issues, or difficulties which are worrying them. Counselling can be short or long-term. Some people find problems are resolved after 6 sessions, while others decide to stay in counselling for longer.

Counselling is undertaken by Dr Susan Goodrich, a Gestalt practitioner. Gestalt is a humanistic psychotherapy that supports people to: be authentic in their relationship with others; experience the 'present' more fully; and identify recurring life themes.

Susan works with adults and young people (16+) experiencing relationship problems, phobias, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, depression and anxiety, and work-related issues. She also offers counselling to people who have experienced traumatic injuries, including brain damage following stroke or head injury.

Susan is happy to assist you in finding out how she can help or, where appropriate, advise on alternative options. She generally suggests arranging a one-off session to give you the opportunity of finding out if her approach is right for you. After the initial session, weekly meetings for a stated limited time can be agreed.
